Instrument development for assessing knowledge management of quality assurers in Rajabhat universities, Thailand

This research was conducted for the purpose of developing a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate knowledge management of quality assurance personnel in tertiary institutes. The literature review on knowledge management discovered that 15 items were used to classify 4 latent variables.

Implementation of the code of professional ethics for Thai civil servants

The purpose of this research was to examine the implementation of the 2009 Code of Professional Ethics for Civil Servants B.E. 2552 (the Code). Data were collected by conducting focus groups with executive and operational officials and a survey with a sample group of 5,795 civil servants in 117 agencies.

Environmental sustainability of highland agricultural land use patterns for Mae Raem and Mae Sa watersheds, Chiang Mai province

The objectives of this study were to study the existing highland agricultural land use patterns; to analyze the environmental sustainability of highland agricultural land use patterns; and to determine the optimal highland agricultural land use patterns. Environmental indicators of concern were soil fertility, water quality, and chemicals used in crop cultivation.

Errors in translation made by English major students: A study on types and causes

The objectives of this research were to examine types of translation errors in translation from Thai into English, to determine the types of translation errors that are most common, and to find possible explanations for the causes of errors. The results of this study will be used to improve translation teaching and the course “Translation from Thai into English”.

The roles of parents in cultivating children's interest towards science learning and careers

This research investigated the opportunities provided by parents to their children with the aim of facilitating science learning and promoting careers related to science. This exploratory qualitative research used the semi-structured interview method with seven parents who were purposively sampled for the study. Their children (16 years old) had just enrolled to study pure science subjects (science stream) such as Physics at the upper secondary level of a rural school.

Agricultural extension services to foster production sustainability for food and cultural security of glutinous rice farmers in Vietnam

This paper examined glutinous rice farming in households, as a food and for cultural security, and the extension services in areas producing glutinous rice. Data were collected from 400 local farmers based on interview schedules and statistical analysis using the percentage, arithmetic mean, and hypothesis testing with logistic regression.

Bio-power, medical gaze and negotiation: Narrative experiences of anti-aging practices among Thai women

The key findings from this study were the senses of body-self were both positive and negative, including media of happiness and good-spirit, inferiority complexes and worries, changes of the blood and circulatory system, unwanted/undesirable appearance, and reduction in passion and sexual attractiveness; the anti-aging praxis of women involves dominant medical discourse operating a series of diverse knowledge practices.
